BICO partnered with the Ministry of Health and the College of Medicine to implement the five-year Deworm3 Project in Mangochi District. Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through the Natural History Museum and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the project aimed to evaluate whether community-wide Mass Drug Administration (MDA) using albendazole could successfully interrupt the transmission of soil-transmitted helminths (STH).

The initiative focused on improving public health through large-scale deworming interventions, research, and community engagement to support the long-term elimination of intestinal worm infections in Malawi.
